Il corso ha l’obiettivo di fornire agli studenti le conoscenze generali relative all'archeologia romana, con riferimento particolare all'architettura, all'urbanistica e alla produzione artistica e artigianale.
The course aims to provide students with a general knowledge of Roman archaeology, with a particular emphasis on architecture, urbanism, artistic and craft productions.
Le modalità di verifica delle conoscenze richiamano la partecipazione attiva alle lezioni frontali tramite l’interazione diretta tra docente e discenti, così da favorire momenti di commento e/o approfondimento degli argomenti esposti. Per la verifica in tempo reale dell’efficacia dell’apprendimento e per suscitare interesse di approfondimento della materia, il docente propone alle studentesse e agli studenti domande
inerenti all’argomento oggetto della lezione secondo la metodologia del Problem Based Learning, avvalendosi talvolta di sistemi di instant poll.
The students’ knowledge will be through the active participation in frontal lessons and by direct interaction between teacher and students to favor comments and/or in-depth analysis of the topics presented. For real-time verification of the effectiveness of learning and to
arouse interest in the discipline, the teacher presents questions about the topics of the lessons to students according to the Problem Based Learning methodology. Instant poll systems are available.
Alla fine del corso gli studenti saranno in grado di orientarsi nell’analisi dei monumenti e dei prodotti artistici e di comprendere i fenomeni culturali del mondo romano alla luce della documentazione archeologica.
At the end of the course students will be able to orient themselves to the analysis of monuments and artworks and to understand the cultural phenomena of the Roman world in the light of archaeological documentation.
Sarà possibile accertarsi dell'acquisizione delle capacità sopracitate tramite la modalità interattiva
di svolgimento delle lezioni frontali.
It will be possible to assess the acquisition of the skills during interactive frontal lessons.
Gli studenti potranno acquisire e/o sviluppare sensibilità alle problematiche inerenti i Beni archeologici e al loro valore di testimonianza storica.
Students will be more sensitive to the problems inherent the archaeological heritage.
L’acquisizione dei comportamenti verrà rilevata durante tutta la durata del corso.
Nello specifico sarà valutata positivamente la partecipazione in aula.
The demonstration of appropriate behaviour will be observed throughout the duration of the course. Specifically, participation in the classroom will be positively evaluated.
La preparazione dell'esame presuppone una buona conoscenza della Storia romana, della Cultura/Letteratura latina, dell'Archeologia e storia dell'arte greca, della Geografia storica del mondo antico. Questi forniranno i principali metodi e strumenti per comprendere i temi dell’insegnamento in oggetto.
The study of the subject presupposes a good knowledge of Roman history, from its origins to Late Antiquity, of Latin culture, of Greek archaeology and of the historical Geography of the Ancient World.
They will provide the main methods and tools to understand the module content.
Il corso prevede lo svolgimento di 18 lezioni frontali di 90 minuti ciascuna, con proiezione di slides. Le lezioni saranno tenute in italiano.
Le immagini che saranno proiettate durante le lezioni saranno a disposizione degli studenti, che potranno scaricarle dalla pagina del corso su Moodle (http://polo4.elearning.unipi.it) utilizzando le proprie credenziali di Ateneo.
Sul blog di Moodle saranno caricate di volta in volta le comunicazioni docente-studenti.
The course includes 18 lectures of 90 minutes each, with slide show.The lectures will be held in Italian.
The slides will be available to the students, who can download them from the course page on Moodle (http://polo4.elearning.unipi.it) using their University credentials.
On the Moodle blog will be loaded from time to time the teacher-student communications.
Il corso di Istituzioni di Archeologia e storia dell'arte romana corrisponde al Modulo A di Archeologia e storia dell'arte romana.
Il corso esplora i principali aspetti dell'urbanistica, dell'architettura e della produzione artistica e artigianale di età romana, in prospettiva diacronica e con riferimento alle diverse aree geografiche dell’Impero Romano.
I partecipanti saranno guidati nell'approfondimento delle capacità di analisi e comprensione del materiale archeologico e della letteratura scientifica.
The Institutions of Archaeology and History of Roman Art course corresponds to Module A of Archaeology and History of Roman Art.
This course explores the main aspects of urbanism, architecture and art and craft production of the Roman age, in a diachronic perspective and with reference to the different geographical areas of the Roman Empire.
Participants will thus improve their skills in the analysis of artworks and in the critical reading of scientific literature.

L'esame finale consiste in una prova scritta (riconoscimento e commento di 3 immagini relative a statuaria, pittura, architettura, arti minori) e in un colloquio orale sui temi trattati nei testi d’esame. La prova è superata se il candidato dimostra di conoscere i testi in programma, se è in grado di usare un linguaggio specifico corretto, se è in grado di collegare temi e problemi ricorrenti nei testi proposti dal programma, se è in grado di utilizzare i concetti e le argomentazioni caratterizzanti dei testi proposti.
Chi non supera la prova scritta, è tenuto a ripeterla.
Per chi supera la prova scritta con una votazione compresa fra 18/30 e 26/30 non c'è prova orale, ma solo la registrazione del voto ottenuto nello scritto (previa discussione del compito), per effettuare la quale occorre presentarsi il giorno della prova orale; se lo studente ritiene di non accettare il voto, deve ripetere la prova scritta. Chi supera la prova scritta con una votazione di 27/30 o più, deve sostenere la prova orale; il voto finale terrà conto del risultato della prova scritta e di quella orale. Non è obbligatorio sostenere la prova orale nello stesso appello della prova scritta: la prova scritta superata ha valore di 12 mesi.
The final examination consists of a written test (recognition and commentary of 3 images related to statuary, painting, architecture, minor arts) and an oral interview on the topics covered in the examination texts. The test is passed if the candidate demonstrates knowledge of the texts in the syllabus, is able to use correct specific language, is able to connect recurring themes and problems in the texts proposed by the syllabus, and is able to use the concepts and arguments characterizing the proposed texts.
Those who fail the written test are required to retake it.
For those who pass the written test with a grade between 18/30 and 26/30, there is no oral test, but only the recording of the grade obtained in the written test (after discussion of the assignment), to make it, which must be presented on the day of the oral test; if the student considers not accepting the grade, he or she must repeat the written test. Those who pass the written test with a grade of 27/30 or more must take the oral test; the final grade will take into account the result of the written and oral test. It is not compulsory to take the oral test in the same roll call as the written test: the passed written test has 12-month value.
