Miglioramento della conoscenza della lingua poetica latina
Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of Latin language and literature, thanks to the linguistic and stylistic analysis of Latin poetry and prose texts. He or she will have demonstrated his ability to read, understand and analyse Latin texts, define literary problems, approach them and present the results in a structured way.

Relazione di Seminario e traduzione e commento linguistico ad un libro dell'Eneide
Assessment criteria of knowledge
When participating in seminar the student will be assessed on his/her knowledge of Latin and his/her ability to discuss the texts applying to them philological, linguistic and literary methods. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

  • Continuous assessment

Further information:
The evaluation will be based on the participation in seminar (30 % approximately) and a final oral exam (70 %).

Commento all’VIII libro dell’Eneide
Syllabus
Some Seneca’s texts will be analyzed, especially in their linguistic and stylistic aspects, with a continuous active involvement of the students, in order to focalize the main features of Senecan style and their relation with his philosophical thought.
