The course will focus on the philosophical problems of tolerance. The course will examine the philosophical foundation of the value of tolerance from the classic essay by John Locke's "Letter Concerning Toleration", then it will extend to a discussion of the limitations and paradoxes of multiculturalism and tolerance in the context of a globalized society.
