Learning outcomes
Knowledge
Students are expected to acquire:
- introductory knowledge or Probability
- basic knowledge of measure and integration
- hability to solve probability exercises
- basic and practical knowledge of statistical inference
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2 hours, 3 exercices), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to solve related exercises.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Syllabus
Basic definitions of Probability, conditioning and independence.
Discrete random variables, independence and moments.
Basic ideas of integration; probability distribution function.
Random variables with density and basic limit theorems.
Statistical inference: estimation, confidence intervals and test.
Neyman-Pearson lemma and applications.
Test on Gaussian statistical models.
