Possesso di conoscenze matematiche abbastanza sviluppate (nozioni di calcolo differenziale e integrale, geometria elmentare, algebra). Conoscenze sotriche di base.
Possession of fairly developed mathematical knowledge (at least notions of differential and integral calculus, elementary geometry, algebraic structures). Basic historical knowledge.
È AUSPICABILE UNA CONOSCENZA ALMENO ELEMENTARE DEL LATINO.
An ELEMENTARY KNOWLEDGE OF THE LATIN is desirable.
Traditional lectures
Il corso approfondirà lo studio di un'opera importante per la nascita dlela matematica moderna (per es. la Géométrie di Descartes ) inquandrandone opportunamente il suo contesto storico e matematico e la sua influenza sullo sviluppo successivo. La scelta specifica dei temi saranno discussi con gli studenti interessati al corso.
The course will deepen the study of an important work for the birth of modern mathematics (for example, the <i>Géométrie</i> of Descartes), appropriately investigating its historical and mathematical context and its influence on subsequent development. The specific choice of topics will be discussed with the students interested in the course.
