Lo studente potrà acquisire conoscenze in merito all'estetica ispano-americana del Novecento, di cui saranno illustrate e approfondite le tendenze più innovative ponendo al centro della riflessione il romanzo e le sue caratteristiche tematiche ed espressive
The student will be able to acquire knowledge about the Spanish-American aesthetics of the twentieth century, of which the most innovative trends will be illustrated and analyzed, by placing the novel and its thematic and expressive characteristics at the centre of the reflection.
La verifica delle conoscenze sarà oggetto della valutazione degli elaborati scritti prodotti durante il corso nonché della prova orale prevista ad ogni sessione d'esame
The verification of the knowledge will be the object of the evaluation of the written assignments produced during the course as well as of the oral examination scheduled for each exam session
Lo studente dovrà preparare e presentare una relazione scritta che riporti i risultati delle attività di approfondimento svolte durante il corso
The student must prepare and present a written report that reports on the results of the in-depth activities carried out during the course
In seguito alle attività seminariali saranno richieste agli studenti delle brevi relazioni concernenti gli argomenti trattati
Non è richiesta alcuna propedeuticità ma è auspicabile che si sia sostenuto almeno il primo esame di lingua spagnola
Prerequisites (initial knowledge)
No prerequisites are required but it is desirable that at least the first Spanish language exam has been taken and successfully passed.
Le lezioni saranno frontali, in lingua spagnola e con ausilio di slide nel caso in cui la trattazione dell' argomento ne richieda l'utilizzo. Conventional lectures in Spanish delivered with the aid of slides in case the discussion of the topic requires their use. Il romanzo degli anni Cinquanta: le forme della sperimentazione narrativa
Si analizzerà il romanzo ispano-americano degli anni Cinquanta mediante una selezione di opere alle quali è possibile riconoscere un titolo di progenitura nei confronti delle forme della scrittura più innovative del Novecento, accomunate tutte dal rifiuto per il regionalismo, la cronaca o il documentarismo. Partendo dal testo e dall'analisi delle sue peculiarità espressive e tematiche, saranno al centro della riflessione il real maravilloso americano, il racconto della spazialità simbolica e della giustapposizione temporale, nonché le espressioni americane dell'esistenzialismo e del grottesco
Programme (contents of the course)
The novel of the fifties: forms of narrative experimentation
We will analyze the Hispanic-American novel of the Fifties through a selection of works in which it is possible to recognize a title of progeniture against the most innovative forms of 20th-century writing; these share a rejection of regionalism, news or documentarism. Starting from the text and the analysis of its expressive and thematic peculiarities, the real maravilloso American, the story of symbolic spatiality and temporal juxtaposition, as well as the American expressions of existentialism and the grotesque, will be at the centre of our reflection.
