Lo studente potrà acquisire conoscenze relative alla teoria della comunicazione e al ruolo della comunicazione nella gestione dei conflitti.
The student of philosophy will acquire knowledge about the theory of communication and the role of communication in conflict resolution.
Esame orale finale.

Lo studente sarà guidato al riconoscimento dei diversi caratteri propri delle situazioni comunicative e a interrogare flussi, strutture e conflitti di natura comunicativa.
The student will be guided to recognize the different characters of communicative situations and to analyze communicative streams, structures and conflicts.
Lo studente svolgerà una ricerca sul campo e presenterà una relazione su un tema di comunicazione relativo al suo territorio di provenienza. Tale ricerca potrà anche essere realizzata da piccoli gruppi di studenti.
The student will carry out a field research and will present a report on a topic about communication relatively to his/her area of origin. The research can also be carried out in groups of (max 3) students.
Lo studente potrà acquisire maggiore familiarità con il requisito fondamentale della personalità comunicativa professionale, la capacità di ascolto.
The student will becom more familiar with the fundamental requirement of the professional communicative personality, namely listening ability.

Il corso intende affrontare il problema filosofico della caratterizzazione dell'attività comunicativa e del suo ruolo nella trasformazione dei conflitti.
Nella prima parte saranno presentati diversi modelli per l'analisi della comunicazione. Sarà discussa la capacità di tali modelli rendere conto dei fenomeni comunicativi e in generale di rispondere alla domanda, Che cos'è la comunicazione?
Nella seconda parte sarà affrontata la teoria dei conflitti, utilizzando strumenti e analisi provenienti dalla sociologia, dalla teoria dei giochi e dalle scienze per la pace. In particolare saranno discussi gli effetti della comunicazione nei processi di aumento e diminuzione dell'intensità dei conflitti.
The course will deal with the philosophical problem of characterizing communicative acitivity and its role in the transformation of conflicts.
In the first part various models will be presented for the analysis of communication. The focus of this part will be the evaluation of the possibility of these models to account for communicative phenomena and in general to answer the question, What is communication?
The focus of the second part will be the theory of conflicts. Different tools will be exploited for the analysis of conflicts in sociology, game theory and peace sciences. In particular, the effects of communication will be discussed on the processes of conflict escalation and de-escalation.

L'esame è costituito da una prova orale nella quale lo studente sarà a colloquio con il docente.
Preliminare all'esame orale è la consegna della relazione scritta. La relazione dovrà essere caricata su Moodle o inviata per email al docente almeno 15 giorni prima della data d'appello scelta dallo studente.
The exam is oral. The colloquium will start with the discussion of the report presented by the student. The rest of the colloquium will assess the student's knowledge of the course bibliography.
Before the exam, the student will have to deliver the report. The report can be uploaded on Moodle or sent by email directly to the teacher 15 days before the exam.
