Al termine del corso gli studenti saranno in grado di utilizzare i principali strumenti della ricerca filologica in ambito latino (come ad esempio il Thesaurus, l'Oxford Latin Dictionary, le grammatiche, i lessici, i commenti scientifici, i repertori bibliografici) e di svolgere una relazione seminariale su un passo del "De rerum natura" di Lucrezio, con particolare attenzione agli aspetti critico-testuali, linguistici e stilistici.
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to read and understand classical texts; will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the Latin language and literature; will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of bibliographic research methods; will be able to conduct research and present the results in a seminar; will be able to prepare a bachelor dissertation.
Il corso ha carattere seminariale e comporta la frequenza. Dopo alcune lezioni di carattere introduttivo e organizzativo, a ciascuno studente verrà assegnato un passo del II libro del "De rerum natura" di Lucrezio da commentare sotto il profilo linguistico, stilistico e critico-testuale con l'ausilio dei commenti scientifici, della bibliografia specialistica e dei principali strumenti di consultazione.
The course is a seminar: each student will have to present a report about a passage from Lucretius's De rerum natura, Book II: the text will be commented with particular attention to linguistic, stylistic, literary and philological problems.
Il corso mira ad affinare le capacità di analisi linguistica, stilistica e tematica dei testi latini e a introdurre gli studenti ai metodi della ricerca filologica.
The course aims to develop the skills of analysing Latin texts and to introduce the students to the methods of philological research.
Gli studenti dovranno svolgere una relazione seminariale sul passo assegnato e partecipare attivamente alla discussione dei seminari degli altri partecipanti.

La valutazione terrà conto, oltre che della relazione seminariale svolta dallo studente, anche della sua partecipazione attiva alla discussione in classe.
Il corso, rivolto espressamente agli studenti del curriculum classico, presuppone una buona preparazione istituzionale sia sul versante della lingua latina, sia su quello della storia della letteratura: i partecipanti dovranno aver sostenuto gli esami di Lingua e letteratura latina I e II, come previsto dal regolamento del Corso di laurea.
The students should have good knowledge of Latin language and literature and should have passed the exams of "Latin language and literature" I and II.
Il seminario sarà dedicato alla lettura del II libro del "De rerum natura" di Lucrezio. A ciascun partecipante sarà distribuito un passo di circa 30 versi, che sarà oggetto del seminario. Particolare attenzione sarà dedicata alla discussione delle questioni critico-testuali, sulla base della nuova edizione critica del poema lucreziano, recentemente pubblicata da M. Deufert per la Bibliotheca Teubneriana. Si farà riferimento anche al Kritischer Kommentar dello stesso Deufert, nonchè al commento di D. Fowler dedicato alla prima parte del II libro (vd. indicazioni bibliografiche).
During the course the students will read the II Book of Lucretius's "De rerum natura": each student will present an oral report about approximately 30 lines. Particular attention will be devoted to the discussion of philological problems, based on the new critical edition of the Lucretian poem, recently published by M. Deufert for the Bibliotheca Teubneriana. Students will also refer to the Kritischer Kommentar by Deufert himself, as well as to the commentary by D. Fowler dedicated to the first part of the second book (see bibliographical indications).

Dato il carattere seminariale, la frequenza è obbligatoria e costituisce parte integrante dell'esame. Non sono previsti programmi per non frequentanti.
Since the course is a seminar, the attendance is mandatory.
Gli studenti sono tenuti a presentare una relazione seminariale sul passo loro assegnato: la relazione sarà incentrata sulla traduzione e sul commento del passo, del quale verranno evidenziate le principali questioni linguistiche, stilistiche e critico-testuali.
During the course the students will present a report about a lucretian passage: they should comment the most important linguistic, philological and literary problems of the text.
Gli studenti interessati a seguire il corso sono invitati a contattare la docente via e-mail (lisa.piazzi@unipi.it). Il giorno 19 settembre alle ore 1030 in aula Ricci 4 si terrà un incontro organizzativo preliminare durante il quale verranno distribuiti i passi oggetto del seminario e sarà fissato un calendario. Gli studenti che non riusciranno a partecipare all'incontro potranno comunque aggiungersi anche successivamente.
Le lezioni avranno inizio giovedì 26 settembre alle ore 1415 in aula Curini A4.
Students interested in following the course are invited to contact the teacher via e-mail (lisa.piazzi@unipi.it) at the beginning of September: it will be possible to organize a preliminary meeting even before the beginning of the lessons, in order to assign in advance to each student the passage that will be the subject of the seminar.
