Learning outcomes
Knowledge

The student who successfully completes the course will have the knowledge of the basics of financial mathematics needed to approach the study of Economics and Management Sciences.

Assessment criteria of knowledge

Student's knowledge will be verified  by means of a written exam, where the student is asked to show his/her knowledge of the course topics and his/her ability to solve mathematical problems.

Skills

At the end of the course, the student will be more confident in his/her mathematical abilities and will be able to solve basic finance problems.

Assessment criteria of skills

During the written exam, the student is asked to solve basic finance problems with accuracy. The ability of finding the connection between theory and exercises will be evaluated.

Behaviors

The student will improve his/her major understandings, representational abilities, computational abilities and reasoning ones.

Assessment criteria of behaviors

During the exams, the student should demonstrate his/her ability to apply the mathematical concepts he/she has learned.

Prerequisites

basics of calculus (single variable functions, exponential and logarithmic equalities/inequalities).

Syllabus

Common Financial Laws, Financial laws depending on one or two variables, Interest rate term structure, Amortization of a loan, Financial Choices, Leasing and consumer credits, Bonds.
