E' prevista l'acquisizione di conoscenze relative all'estetica di Dewey e alla sua influenza nella estetica (ma non solo) contemporanea.
The aim is to provide students with a good knowledge of Dewey's aesthetics and its influence in contemporary aesthetics and beyond.
Esame orale e partecipazione attiva al seminario (incluse relazione orale e saggio scritto). Per frequenza si intende SOLO quella regolare, attiva, e con presentazione secondo le modalità stabilite. Gli studenti frequentanti secondo queste modalità faranno un esame finale agevolato. Per tutti gli altri, inclusi studenti che frequentano solo saltuariamente e/o non attivamente, la modalità d'esame è quella classica.
Oral examination and active participation in the seminar (including oral presentation and written essay). Attendance is defined as regular, active attendance ONLY, and with presentation in the prescribed manner. Students attending in this way will take a simplified final examination. For all others, including students who attend only occasionally and/or not actively, the examination mode is the classic one.

Conoscenza adeguata della lingua italiana inglese, conoscenze storiche elementari, conoscenze di base di storia dell'estetica. Il corso è aperto ai soli studenti di FIFS.
Proficiency in Italian and English language, basic historical competences, general knowledge of the history of aesthetics.
Il corso avrà modello seminariale, con una combinazione di lezioni del docente, discussione collettiva e presentazioni individuali degli studenti. Sono previsti interventi di esperti esterni laddove possibile.
The seminar will combine frontal lectures, collective discussions, and individual presentations by the students, plus, if possible, some lectures by invited speakers.
Dewey e l’estetica contemporanea: estetica ambientale, everyday aesthetics, somaestetica, estetica femminista
Il seminario si occupa dell’estetica di John Dewey in Arte come esperienza e della sua ampia e profonda influenza nell’estetica contemporanea. Dopo la ricognizione delle tesi e dei concetti fondamentali dell’estetica deweyana nei primi quattro capitoli di Arte come esperienza passeremo alla lettura e discussione di brevi testi di estetica contemporanea che si pongono in dialogo esplicito (o, talvolta, implicito), con Dewey, seguendo quindi l’influenza di quest’ultimo in quattro direzioni principali: estetica ambientale e del paesaggio, everyday aesthetics, somaestetica ed estetica femminista. Il corso avrà natura seminariale e prevede la partecipazione attiva degli studenti in forma di discussioni e di presentazioni scritte e orali. I testi effettivamente in programma verranno definiti in corso d’opera anche sulla base degli interessi e scelte degli studenti. Modifiche del programma saranno registrate su questa pagina Valutami.
Dewey and contemporary aesthetics: environmental aesthetics, everyday aesthetics, somaesthetics, feminist aesthetics
The seminar deals with John Dewey's aesthetics in Art as Experience and its broad and profound influence on contemporary aesthetics. After the investigation of the fundamental theses and concepts of Deweyan aesthetics in the first four chapters of Art as Experience, we will move on to the reading and discussion of short texts in contemporary aesthetics that are in explicit (or sometimes implicit) dialogue with Dewey. We will thus follow Dewey's influence in four main directions: environmental and landscape aesthetics, everyday aesthetics, somaesthetics and feminist aesthetics. The course will be seminar-based and will involve the active participation of students in the form of discussions and written and oral presentations. The texts on the syllabus will be better defined during the course, also on the basis of students’ interests and choices. Any changes to the programme will be recorded here on Valutami.
