Gli studenti acquisiranno conoscenze approfondite sull'organizzazione e sul mutamento del sistema
linguistico greco antico, in prospettiva comparativa, con riferimento al cosiddetto indoeuropeo
ricostruito.
The students will acquire advanced knowledge of the principles underlying the organization and
change of Ancient Greek language system, from a comparative perspective, and in relation to the
so-called "reconstructed" Indo-European.

Capacità di analizzare fenomeni specifici del greco antico, e di utilizzare efficacemente il metodo
della comparazione con le altre lingue indoeuropee più anticamente attestate. Capacità di affrontare i
problemi tramandatici dalla tradizione e le questioni ancora aperte nella linguistica greca (ed
indoeuropea) alla luce delle acquisizioni teoriche contemporanee.
In conformità con gli obiettivi del progetto di eccellenza CECIL, con particolare riferimento al
potenziamento della didattica delle lingue antiche, specifici percorsi seminariali e laboratoriali
saranno dedicati all’analisi linguistica di testi in greco antico.
Ability to analyze specific phenomena in Ancient Greek and to exploit the comparative methods,
with the aim of understanding the relationship between Ancient Greek and other Indo-European
languages. Ability to combine philological and theoretical perspective when addressing old and new
problems and open questions in Greek (and Indo-European) linguistics.
To meet the objectives of the so-called “project of excellence” CECIL, with a special focus on the
teaching and evaluation of students’ knowledge of ancient Indo-European languages, specific
activities will be dedicated to linguistic analysis of various kinds of tests in ancient Greek.

rigorosa analisi dei dati, considerazione dei principi teorici, confronto con la letteratura.

"Il sistema linguistico greco antico: fra ricostruzione e tipologia"
Il corso verterà principalmente su:
- sistema verbale,
- codifica argomentale,
- fenomeni di interfaccia fra semantica e morfosintassi e, in particolare: strategie di codifica
di distinzioni azionali, di diatesi, di allineamento e di valenza.
I problemi tramandati dalla tradizione e le questioni ancora aperte saranno affrontati alla luce delle
acquisizioni teoriche più recenti, combinando l'analisi linguistico-filologica dei testi con la riflessione
sui principi che soggiacciono all'organizzazione e al mutamento dei sistemi linguistici, in prospettive
diverse (storico-comparativa, tipologica, cognitivo-funzionale). Lo studio del greco, con particolare
attenzione al greco omerico e classico, si aprirà alla comparazione con altre lingue indoeuropee
antiche.

- morphosyntax/semantics interface phenomena, including the strategies for actional
distinction, diathesis encoding, alignment and valency marking.
