Types of scientific and technical texts in the German language: text structure, grammatical and terminological characteristics, elements of scientific popularization.
In conformità con gli obiettivi del progetto di eccellenza CECIL, agli studenti viene assegnata un'analisi linguistica di un piccolo corpus di testi scientifici in lingua tedesca. Completata con successo, costituirà la parte principale dell'esame che verterà inoltre sui contenuti generali del corso.
In accordance with the objectives of the CECIL excellence project, students are assigned a linguistic analysis of a small corpus of scientific texts in German. Successful completion will form the main part of the examination, which will also cover the general course content.
Lo studente / la studentessa sarà in grado di svolgere analisi autonome di esemplari concreti dei tipi di testo trattati. La riflessione sulle strutture linguistiche e il loro funzionamento garantirà l'affinamento di competenze linguistiche, critiche ed ermeneutiche in linea con gli obiettivi del progetto d’eccellenza CECIL.
The students will be able to carry out autonomous analyses of concrete examples of the types of texts covered. Reflection on linguistic structures and their functioning will ensure the refinement of linguistic, critical and hermeneutic skills in line with the objectives of the CECIL project of excellence.
In conformità con gli obiettivi del progetto di eccellenza CECIL, la studentessa / lo studente dovrà preparare e presentare una relazione scritta su un argomento del corso a scelta. Si tratta di una tesina seminariale (ca. 15 pp.) che richiede l’analisi di un testo scientifico tedesco, rilevando le sue caratteristiche a livello di coerenza, coesione (i mezzi linguistici e stilistici), struttura (Textmuster) e le sue particolari forme di intertestualità. La tesina sarà corretta dalla docente e discusso con lo studente/la studentessa, annotando i punti da migliorare.
Le competenze strumentali della lingua tedesca saranno verificate in sede di lettorato.
In accordance with the objectives of the CECIL project of excellence, the students are required to prepare and submit a written report on a course topic of their choice. This is a seminar paper (approx. 15 pp.) requiring the analysis of a German scientific text, noting its characteristics in terms of coherence, cohesion (linguistic and stylistic means), structure (textmuster) and its particular forms of intertextuality. The paper will be corrected by the lecturer and discussed with the student, noting the points to be improved.
The instrumental competence in the German language will be verified during the courses of the lectureship.
Studentesse e studenti saranno in grado di orientarsi nella lettura e interpretazione di testi e di fenomeni comunicativi del tedesco e a riconoscere funzionamenti equivalenti e diversi nel sistema e nella produzione testuale dell’italiano, in linea con gli obiettivi del progetto CECIL.
Students will be able to orientate themselves in the reading and interpretation of texts and communicative phenomena in German and to recognise equivalent and different functions in the Italian textual system and production, in line with the objectives of the CECIL project.
I comportamenti saranno verificati mediante analisi di testi, discussione dei fenomeni rilevati, una breve presentazione tecnica con power point e una tesina seminariale.
Skills will be tested through text analysis, discussion of the phenomena detected, a short technical power point presentation and a seminar paper.

I studenti saranno in grado di dialogare in tedesco sui contenuti del corso e di applicare le teorie acquisite in un “Referat” in aula e una tesina seminariale.
Students will be able to converse in German about the course content and apply the acquired theories in a seminar talk and a written paper.

Die Wissenschaftssprache Deutsch in Relation zu den Fachsprachen
(Il linguaggio scientifico tedesco in relazione alle lingue tecniche tedesche)
Die deutsche Wissenschaftssprache ist eine Fachsprache mit besonderen Charakteristiken. Ihre wichtigste Funktion ist die Realisierung fachlicher Kommunikation in wissenschaftlichen Diskursen. Wissenschaftssprache ist informationsorientiert, objektiv, stark formalisiert und normiert. Sie weist einen eigenen Fachstil auf, der in den unterschiedlichen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen mehr oder weniger stark ausgeprägt sein kann. Im Kurs werden die Zusammenhänge von Wissenschafts- und Fachsprachen analysiert. Die Komponenten der Fach- und Wissenschaftstexte (Makrostruktur, Lexik, Syntax, wörtliche und übertragene Rede, Metaphorik von Fachwörtern) werden in unterschiedlichen Beispieltexten analysiert. Einbezogen wird auch die linguistische Analyse von fachsprachlichen Passagen, die in literarischen Texten vorkommen. Der Kurs wird auf Deutsch gehalten.
The German language of science in relation to German technical languages
The German language of science is a technical language with special characteristics. Its most important function is the realisation of technical communication in scientific discourses. Scientific language is information-oriented, objective, highly formalised and standardised. It has its own technical style, which can be more or less strongly marked in the different scientific disciplines. In the course, the interrelationships of scientific and technical languages are analysed. The components of technical and scientific texts (macrostructure, lexis, syntax, literal and figurative speech, metaphor of technical words) are analysed in different sample texts. The linguistic analysis of technical language passages incorporated in literary texts is also included. The course will be held in German.
